The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota was founded in 1954 by a group of dedicated doctors and social workers to address concerns about challenges facing people with seizures. Today, EFMN offers services across Minnesota and eastern North Dakota to those facing the challenges of epilepsy. EFMN also serves the broader community by fostering a better understanding of epilepsy, promoting basic seizure training, and raising awareness of how common it is to experience a seizure. An estimated 60,000 people in our region have epilepsy and our vision is that each of them will reach their full potential. EFMN is an affiliate of the national Epilepsy Foundation. We lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.
Our Mission - we lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.
Our Vision - a world in which people with seizures realize their full potential.
EFMN offers programs that connect, educate, and empower individuals and families affected by epilepsy and seizures, reaching over 225,000 people annually.
We offer programs for youth, adults, and families so they can connect with people going through similar challenges and reduce the sense of isolation.
Employment - The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota offers resources for both employees and employers
Our Veterans Outreach program, M.O.V.E.S., delivers epilepsy awareness and education to veterans and their families.
Our education and training programs provide free and low-cost trainings to schools, daycare centers, workplaces, and senior centers so these environments are prepared if someone has a seizure.
The unpredictable nature of epilepsy can make a person feel they have little control over their life; EFMN empowers individuals through its Information and Referral services and its Epilepsy Advocacy communications.
In addition to these programs, EFMN actively partners with other institutions and organizations that overlap with our mission of serving the epilepsy community.
