The Duluth Workforce Development Board is one Minnesota’s 16 local workforce boards, designated under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014. The Board is comprised of a majority business representatives, as well workforce, education and training, government, economic, and community stakeholders. The Duluth Workforce Development Board develops and leads workforce strategy within the city of Duluth to meet the needs of area employers and job seekers through comprehensive and coordinated systems. The Board supports the City of Duluth Workforce Development Department and its partners to implement local workforce programs, including oversight of the operation of the CareerForce Duluth location.
The Duluth Workforce Development Board is a leader in CareerForce, Minnesota’s unified workforce system. We envision an engaged and diverse workforce, where all individuals, regardless of background, have or are on a path to meaningful employment and a family sustaining wage, and all employers are able to fill jobs in demand. Our priorities include sector initiatives and training partnerships focused on Healthcare, Construction, and Aviation. We are also focused on as attracting talent to the region and increasing the cultural competency of our system.
