October is Manufacturing Month Take Another Look at Manufacturing

October 23 through 25, dozens of Northeast Minnesota manufacturers are opening their doors to the public to take another look at manufacturing. This year marks a significant milestone as the Northeast Minnesota Tour of Manufacturing event becomes fully regionalized for the first time, providing an even broader showcase of the manufacturing excellence in our area.

The tour planning has been thoughtfully coordinated across two major areas: the True North Stars Consortium and the Lake Superior Perkins Consortium. While each group is handling specific details relevant to their respective areas, they are united in their mission to deliver a cohesive regional experience. This alignment is a testament to the strength of our community’s collaboration and commitment to showcasing the best of what we have to offer.

Already, 32 companies have committed to opening their doors to the public. These businesses, spanning the Twin Ports, Grand Rapids, Hibbing, and Two Harbors, will offer a unique glimpse into the innovative processes and skilled craftsmanship that drive our local economy.

Assisting in coordination of regionalization and outreach are AMFA for the True North Stars Consortium Area and APEX for the Lake Superior Perkins Consortium Area, who are working closely as Business/Industry Contact leads for their respective areas. With the assistance of the Northeast Minnesota Workforce Strategy Consultant, Arrowhead Manufacturers & Fabricators Association (AMFA) and Area Partnership for Economic Expansion  (Apex) are coordinating activities and communications to ensure a unified approach across the region.

Adding to the excitement, Cirrus has stepped up as a sponsor of the Statewide Tour for 2024, further emphasizing the importance of this event and the role our region plays in the state’s manufacturing landscape. Cirrus will also be hosting three events focused on specialty the week of October 7:

Mark your calendars for events this week and October 23-25, and get ready to witness firsthand the innovation and expertise that make Northeast Minnesota a manufacturing powerhouse!
