"When I found out my school offered a Nursing Assistant course through Hennepin Technical College, I was quick to enroll for the fall semester of my junior year. I have always loved anything medical related since I was a kid."

Summer is among three students at her west metro high school to enroll in Nursing Assistant training. Summer is considering a career in health care and becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is an important step on that career path.

"This class is very hands on with a great teacher and amazing classmates. And it's perfect to help further my knowledge of working in a medical career, to better prepare me for the future."

Offering Minnesota students the opportunity to complete CNA training during high school is great way to give young people a jump start on their careers. Its also a great way to help meet the critical demand for CNAs across Minnesota right now. CNAs are the sixth most in-demand occupation in the state – and that demand is projected to remain strong for the foreseeable future.
