CareerForce staff work hard every day to help people looking for work and the employers who need them. Vivien Fowler is one of these dedicated employees. Vivien works for Leading CareerForce partner Washington County Community Services and she serves customers out of the CareerForce in Cottage Grove. Below is a message from one of the many people – and families – that Vivien has helped over the years.

My name is JM. Let me share my story with CareerForce as to why Vivien Fowler is a rock star employee and one of the best government employees I have ever known and met. Vivien has made such a difference and positive impact in my family's lives. My family and I truly believe she is God sent and we have known her for more than 13 years, starting with my mother. In 2008, my mother first met Vivien at the North St. Paul Workforce Center. At that time my mother was a single parent with three children. We were struggling financially, living from paycheck to paycheck. Even when we were struggling financially, my mother was an introverted person who was too proud to ask for help. Somehow Vivien’s warm personality, energy, and passion of wanting to help others connected with my mother emotionally. Vivien knew how to get along with people, build and maintain great relationships, and give people her time voluntarily. I remembered Vivien taking the time to take my mother to food shelves and sometimes she would also deliver boxes of food at our home. With Vivien’s help, encouragement and support, it seems that Vivien has changed my mom to be an even better mother and person. Vivien has helped my mother land two other jobs since 2008. She might not realize that she has influenced and helped shape my brothers and me into who we are today. My oldest brother is now an engineer, my second brother is a sergeant in the USAF, and I am a recent college graduate who landed my first research job because of Vivien’s help and support with my job search. Whenever someone wants help or advice with schooling, resources, job search or writing cover letters and resumes, we would direct them to Vivien. She is also one of the few people my mother would send Christmas cards to. My family, friends and I love Vivien and we feel so blessed to have known such an intelligent, beautiful, compassionate and kind person. Everyone I know who has received help from Vivien would tell you the same thing. They’ll tell you that she is extremely helpful, intelligent, and she would go above and beyond her call of duties. On behalf of my family and I, we would like to thank CareerForce for hiring such a rock star professional and we especially want to thank Vivien Fowler for all she has done for our family. Vivien, you will always be a part of our family and you are the best!
