TEAS stands for Test of Essential Academic Skills. It is an exam often required by postsecondary institutions in order to enroll in a nursing program. The class is designed to prepare students to take and complete the exam. The class will cover reading, math, science, English and language usage.
Student eligibility includes:
- At least 17 years of age; and
- Not enrolled in Kindergarten -12th grade (K-12) instruction; and
- Not required to be enrolled in K-12 instruction under state statute; and
- Who qualify under one or more of the following conditions:
- Are unable to speak, read or write the English language;
- Do not have a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent, and have not achieved an equivalent level of education;
- Lack sufficient mastery of basic educational skills to enable the individual to function effectively in society
A student will receive test results from the exam that they will need to apply to a many nursing programs.
