Today, the new CareerForce in Burnsville celebrated its official grand opening. The new location in the Gateway Office Plaza places CareerForce in a centralized location, easy to find right off 35W and Burnsville Parkway, with plenty of parking. It’s also right on several bus routes with a MVTA stop a short distance from the Gateway Office Plaza building at 350 West Burnsville Parkway.
In addition, the new CareerForce in Burnsville location is near other community services, including Adult Basic Education in the Diamondhead Education Center just down the street, which is convenient for many job seekers.
“We’re evaluating CareerForce locations and moving them to locations that are closer to other services when it makes sense and is possible,” said DEED CareerForce Division Director Jeanna Fortney. “This is all part of an effort to serve customers even better.”
“CareerForce is a unified network of private, public and nonprofit partners throughout Minnesota,” said Dakota-Scott Counties Workforce Development Board Director Mark Jacobs. “In CareerForce, we all work together to help Minnesotans prepare for and find employment, plus help Minnesota employers find the workers they need to grow and thrive. It’s wonderful to have this resource at this great location in the south metro.”
The CareerForce in Burnsville location offers many services to job seekers, including connections with local employers hiring now, opportunities to explore career opportunities that match a person’s interests, skills and experience, workshops and individual sessions to help people fine tune their networking and job search strategy, plus resume review, preparation for job interviews and free training and other programs and services for eligible Minnesotans.
CareerForce staff also help area employers connect with people looking for work now, list job openings on Minnesota’s official job posting website, meet employment candidates at job fairs and other hiring events and more.
