Your rights when receiving CareerForce services

You have the right to fair treatment(Link is external) in DEED’s programs and services. You cannot be discriminated against or treated differently because of your:

  • Race
  • Color
  • Religion
  • National origin (including limited English proficiency)
  • Disability
  • Age
  • Sex (including gender identity or expression, pregnancy, childbirth and related medical conditions)
  • Sexual orientation
  • Creed
  • Status with regard to public assistance
  • Political affiliation or belief
  • Citizenship status (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program participants only)
  • Participation in any WIOA Title1 financially assisted program or activity

What to do

If you think you are a victim of discrimination, make sure to write down:

  • What happened to you if you think it was unfair
  • The date or dates when the unfair treatment happened
  • The names of people that were there
  • What the people said

How to file a complaint of discrimination

Do not wait!

You have one year after the discrimination happened to file a complaint.
