Each week during Workforce Development Month we're featuring a CareerForce Spotlight article highlighting the outstanding work of an individual workforce professional or team.
This week, the CareerForce spotlight is on Mari Williams who works out of the CareerForce in Brooklyn Center.
CareerForce has a presence in more than 50 libraries around Minnesota, with more partnering with CareerForce regularly. Mari staffs the CareerForce Corner in the Brookdale Library Tuesdays from 1:30-4 pm.
Mari’s been going to the Brookdale Library every Tuesday since May and has helped people with a variety of employment and job search related questions. Customers frequently return to Mari for additional assistance. There have been several times when people have been lined up and waiting for Mari when she arrived at the library.
“Most of the people that I have seen want their resume reviewed,” said Mari. “Some have Unemployment Insurance questions or questions about the services we provide. I refer them to the appropriate resources and explain the different programs and resources that CareerForce provides.”
