Michael decided to make a career path change and he successfully made the switch from dairy farmer to diesel mechanic, thanks to his hard work and dedication and some help from Leading CareerForce partner Rural Minnesota Concentrated Employment Program (CEP).
Michael knew he wanted to be a diesel mechanic, he knew where he wanted to go to school and he even knew which company he wanted to work for, but how he was going to pay for school was a big unknown. That’s where Rural Minnesota CEP came in.
“Rural Minnesota CEP introduced me to available grants that would allow me to pay for school without going into debt,” said Michael. After completing the diesel mechanic program at Central Lakes College (CLC) in Staples, Michael landed a job at his employer of choice, Midwest Machinery, in his hometown of Little Falls.
“I love what I am doing, mostly because every day is never the same,” Michael said.
