Retired Air Force Veteran Roger recently left his full-time job as a shipping/receiving manager at Amazon Air in Maryland to move back to southwest Minnesota to help his family with fall harvest and field work while his brother was intubated in a hospital ICU with Covid-19 for seven weeks.

After the fall work was completed, Roger started to research employment opportunities in the local area. Upon seeing an opening for a County Veterans Service Officer (CVSO) in his home county of Redwood he visited the local CVSO office to inquire about the position. After discussion with the current CVSO confirmed his interest in the job, he reached out to Rebecca Kaas, Veteran Employment Representative at CareerForce Marshall for further guidance.

“Rebecca contacted me with an enthusiastic and energetic attitude and set up an appointment to go over the details. She was very thorough and knowledgeable,” said Roger. “I was happy with the outcome and sent her my resume the following day for review. Rebecca’s quick work and helpful advice was instrumental in being hired as the new Redwood County VSO.  I highly recommend any veteran seeking employment reach out to their local Veterans Employment Representative or CareerForce office.”
