The Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council (PIC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to building a thriving workforce in our 14-county service area. We believe in everyone's potential and partner with individuals, employers, and schools to empower job seekers of all ages and backgrounds to find meaningful careers. 

Through our CareerForce locations in Montevideo, Marshall, and Worthington, and other regional partnerships, we offer employment and training services, business services, and youth career support. We advocate for every person’s employment potential and strive to be leaders in developing a world-class workforce.

Some specific services provided at this location:

  • Dislocated Worker Services for people laid off from work. Our Dislocated Worker Program services are designed to help workers who have been laid off get back to work as quickly as possible. If you're a worker who has been laid off (or notified that a layoff is coming) through no fault of your own, we offer services at no cost that focus on preparing you to find a suitable new job.   • Career exploration and planning services. Our Career Pathways program is a short-term structured training experience designed to prepare you for a specific career. Once in the program, you will gain the skills, knowledge, and credentials needed to pursue and obtain employment or advance within a specific industry or occupation. We offer training in CNA, Community Interpreter, Welding, CDL, Diesel, and Paraprofessional. Interested in a Career Pathways Program?   • Our Youth Program works with employers and educators to assist students ages 14-24 in our 14-county service area. Services include career exploration, career awareness, career preparation, and skills training that align with the needs of local employers. Interested in participating in our Youth Programs?
