South Central WorkForce Council

The South Central WorkForce Council is one of Minnesota’s 16 local workforce boards designated under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014.  The Board is comprised of a majority business representatives, as well workforce, education and training, government, economic development, and community stakeholders.  We are dedicated to quality workforce development endeavors throughout South Central Minnesota. The Board guides the design of local workforce development throughout the counties of Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, LeSueur, Martin, Nicollet, Sibley, Waseca and Watonwan, including oversight of the operation of CareerForce locations.

The South Central WorkForce Council is a leader in CareerForce, Minnesota’s unified workforce system.  Our priorities include:  addressing the shortage of skilled workers through sector-based career pathway approaches; increasing service levels and outcomes for individuals experiencing employment disparities; expanding partnerships with local school districts to increase career awareness & career counseling opportunities for students and parents; and increasing employer engagement through sector-based partnerships.
