Eligibility criteria apply and for those eligible and enrolled, there will be no cost for the training, testing and materials needed for the course as well as job search assistance.

The Pathways to Prosperity (P2P) program is a grant funded initiative to provide motivated eligible participants wrap around services as they work to achieve their goal of employment as a CNA.

In contrast to traditional CNA students, participants selected for the P2P program benefit from:

  • Career Counseling starting at enrollment and running through employment retention by a Duluth Workforce Development or SOAR Career Solutions job counselor working one-on-one with the participant
  • Additional academic support from a Duluth Adult Education instructor integrated into the class
  • Funding for barrier reduction needs during the program such as gas cards to get to class, scrubs for class and work and other needs
  • A cohort-based class at Lake Superior College which includes Workforce Development days focused on work readiness, employer interactions and career planning

Prior to being enrolled P2P applicants are assessed for motivation, aptitude and ability to move quickly employment after graduation. The academic support is valuable for those in their first college experience or who may have been unsuccessful in previous college attempts.
