CareerForce hosts or cohosts dozens of events every month to help people find fulfilling employment and help connect Minnesota employers with job seekers.
On Wednesday of this week, CareerForce in Duluth hosted a Hiring Now event featuring a wide range of summer employment opportunities. People looking for a summer job came in to meet with employers ranging from the Lake Superior Zoo and the North Shore Scenic Railroad to waterfront hotels and Duluth eateries and others. CareerForce is sharing information about youth employment and summer job related resources throughout the spring.
CareerForce joined Literacy Minnesota and other local resource providers at the Community Digital Equity Fair at the midway area Goodwill location in St. Paul on March 28. CareerForce staff shared information about the many career exploration, employment training and job search resources available through CareerForce. Fair participants also got a chance to check out the Literacy Minnesota digital equity lab, learn about low-cost internet options and register for prizes including a new Chromebook.
On March 26, job seekers braved a snowstorm to attend the First Responder Career Fair at CareerForce in Bemidji. Representatives from Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Bemidji Ambulance Service, Bemidji Fire Department, Bemidji Police Department, DNR Wildland Firefighters and Sanford Health Emergency Medical Services. First responder employer representatives met with job seekers, shared information about job requirements and answered questions about what it is like to work as a first responder.
