Dozens of local job seekers turned out for a Caring Career Job and Training Fair on May 7 at CareerForce in South Minneapolis. You are invited to participate in the upcoming Caring Career Job and Training Fair on June 11 from noon to 3.p.m. at CareerForce in North Minneapolis.
Here’s a quick recap of the May Caring Career event: 45 job seekers turned out to meet with representatives from eight employers and four service providers. Participating employers all have open positions in home-, community- or facility-based care. One job seeker remarked to CareerForce staff as she was leaving that she had applied for a job on the spot and was excited for next steps. She also thanked CareerForce for co-hosting the event along with CLUES (Comunidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio).
Service providers at the event all offer free Caring Career-related training as well as free English language classes to eligible people. In addition, participants were invited to learn more about services and resources provided by CareerForce, CLUES and the City of Minneapolis Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs.
