The 2023 Veterans Career Fair has high marks from job seekers and employers looking to find the right employment fit. The owner of Maverick Drone Systems, based in Savage, hired two Navy veterans at May’s event to help grow his business, which sells tactical drones to local police, agricultural drones to local farmers – and a whole lot more.
Deshawn and Keanen went to the 17th Annual Veterans Career Fair on May 3 in Brooklyn Center, hoping to find fulfilling employment that was a good fit for them. Deshawn and Keanen previously served together aboard the USS Ronald Reagan while in the U.S. Navy. At the Veterans Career Fair, they met Maverick Drone Systems owner Adam Shaw. Shaw was mentored by U.S. Marines veteran Robert Willis, starting when he was a student at Hopkins High School in the late 90s.
Now Adam owns the multi-million dollar business Maverick Drone Systems – and he and Robert, who now works as a CareerForce Veterans Services Representative, have stayed in touch. Adam hired Deshawn and Keanen after meeting them at the Veterans Career Fair, and employer and employees couldn’t be happier. That’s Robert, Deshawn, Keanen and Adam from left to right in the photo. Congratulations!
