Are you ready to start a hands-on career in the growing field of residential or commercial building maintenance and operations? Join PPL's 11-month Building Operations Technician program! You'll earn customer service and sales, Mental Health and First Aid, and OSHA 30 certifications as well benefit from two paid attempts at your boilers license exam. You will also learn PPL’s unique curriculum, centered on discovering your strengths and using them to thrive in your new work place. A two-week paid job shadow for $1000 gives you real life experience and networking opportunities with local employers looking to hire PPL grads. Building Operations Technicians who graduate from this PPL training obtain starting positions averaging a wage of around $21 per hour and often include opportunities to career ladder as you gain experience and expertise. This program begins in mid-July with classes on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings through May of 2024. Classes are held both online and in-person at Minneapolis College. How to Participate

The first step for all PPL training programs is to attend a virtual information session which we hold every Monday at 10am on Zoom. Outcomes

You will gain access to strongly connected employer partners such as Hennepin County, the State of Minnesota, the City of Minneapolis, Aeon, Sherman Associates, & PPL for possible opportunities after graduation. You will also earn customer service and sales, Mental Health and First Aid, and OSHA 30 certifications as well benefit from two paid attempts at your boilers license exam. This field offers a lot of career laddering and growth.

Program Costs

Free - Based on Household Income up to 200% to the poverty-line.
