What is Software Engineering?
Software engineering (or “Coding”) is all about designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software systems that solve problems and improve lives. Software can be anything from the apps on your phone to the systems that run our modern world, like banking software or social media platforms. People who practice software engineering, often called software engineers or developers, combine creativity and technical skills to build and improve these systems. They work on everything from writing code and fixing bugs to designing new features and ensuring that software runs smoothly and efficiently. The ultimate goal is to create software that is reliable, user-friendly, and meets the needs of its users.
Prime’s immersive experience prepares students to join the industry as entry-level software engineers. Using modern technologies like HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, jQuery, React and Node.js to provide foundational concepts, techniques and design patterns essential in all coding environments. Beyond theory, Prime is engineered to quickly build real-world skills through hands-on experiential learning and a focus on toolsets, authentic workplace context and behavioral skills. Hundreds of employers have been wowed by the graduates they’ve hired straight out of Prime and we continually update our curriculum with each new cohort based on insights and feedback from our hiring partners.
