Healthcare Career Exploration (HCCE)

KOM’s HCCE training program is a hybrid online & in-person class. It is designed for people with intermediate English level, who want to study contextualized learning concepts at a slower pace than a college training. 

In class, participants will work with other students to learn their English and medical terms. They will explore different healthcare career options and gain insight on different health professions including nursing (CNA, RN, LPN), Physical Therapy, Medical Assistance, etc.

How to Participate

Eligibility requirements:

  • Identify as Southeast Asian OR reside in these zip codes: 55106, 55107, 55130, 55113, or 55119
  • Desire to start a career in the healthcare industry and be authorized to work in the US
  • Currently unemployed or underemployed and interested in finding work at end of program
  • Meet income guidelines
  • Committed to completion of program
  • Participants who live in zip codes 55106, 55107, 55130, 55113, or 55119 are eligible for a training stipend of up to $2500.
Outcomes

Students will receive help with resume/cover letter writing and interviewing skills. Career Development Counselor will assist in healthcare job placements. Participants will meet employers and staff in different healthcare fields. Career Development Counselor will help students enroll in educational programs to advance their careers.
