MnDOT-DEED Highway Heavy Construction Training and Job Placement
Monday, April 14, 2025 to Friday, May 23, 2025

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) provide pre-apprentice highway construction training that prepares individuals for employment in the highway construction industry. 

This 240-hour, 6-week course includes a combination of curriculum-based classroom instruction, hands-on use of tools and equipment, videos and engagement with industry experts.

How to Participate
Outcomes

Graduates will receive a Highway Heavy Construction Training Certificate as well OSHA-30 Federal Safety Certification.  All participants will receive job search assistance and job placement opportunities.

Eligibility - you must:  

  • Have a high school diploma or GED  
  • Have a valid MN driver’s license  
  • Possess a car and insurance
