Help before, during and after layoffs

Audience:

If your organization is considering layoffs, contact us as soon as possible. We want to learn about the situation and how we may be able to help, explore whether layoffs can be avoided and explain the services we can provide to affected employees. We also evaluate whether the layoffs are related to foreign trade to determine if laid off employees may be eligible for additional benefits. CareerForce services include:

  • Meet before layoffs are announced with management (and union leaders, if applicable)
  • Lead informational meetings with employees
  • Facilitate meetings by a planning and selection committee made up of management, employees (and union leaders, if applicable) to determine worker needs and how they could be met
  • Coordinate grant application with the committee and a service provider to cover the cost of services for affected employers
