Wednesday, February 5 through Thursday, March 20, 2025.
Wednesday, February 5 and Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 4PM to 8PM will be enrollment, testing, and Northstar Digital Learning modules.
The welding lab (40 hours of welding training) will be held Wednesdays & Thursday evenings, February 12 - March 13, 2025 from 4-8PM at Minnesota State College Southeast Red Wing, MN. This class includes 10 hours of classroom instruction, including Math for Welders, Weld Symbols, and safety. 30 hours for hands-on welding (GMAW MIG welding, Intro to Oxyfuel, Intro SMAW (stick ) and Intro to Plasma Cutting.
OSHA 10 for General Industry and Essential Soft Skills will be held from 4-8PM, Monday-Thursday, March 17-20. This class includes 16 hours of nationally recognized safety training, Soft Skills for employment and an Employer panel with employers from the community.
Must live in the 10 Southeast County area (Wabasha, Goodhue, Winona, Steele, Olmsted, Rice, Mower, Dodge, Filmore, Freeborn, and Houston)
Cannot be enrolled in High School
Must be 18 years of age
Should meet one of the following qualifiers:
Individual of color/Hispanic
Individual with a criminal record
Individual without a High School Diploma or GED
Individual with disability
Individual who has been unemployed for 26 weeks or more out of the past 52 weeks.
Individual at or below the 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
***The prerequisite is to complete the NorthStar Digital and CASAS testing for Reading and Math.
A certificate of completion for NorthStar Digital Learning Modules.
A certificate of completion for 40 hours of Accelerated Welding.
One college credit and a certificate of completion for OSHA 10 for General Industry and Essential Soft Skills.
*Most weeks class meets Wed-Thur evenings, one week class meets Mon-Thurs for OSHA10 & Essential Soft Skills training (March 17-20).
