Anoka County Job Training Center is accepting applications for Human Service Assistant Training with paid internships.  Gain 12 college credits in Behavior Health & Human Service Assistant along with digital literacy and customer service training.

Location: Metro North ABE 1201 89th Ave NE, Blaine 55434 and Anoka Technical College 1355 W Hwy10, Anoka 55303- classes at Anoka Technical College will be offered virtually and asynchronously.

DatesApplication Deadline July 10 - class starts in August.    DON’T DELAY - last class filled up- APPLY EARLY!  Schedule will be provided at our information sessions. Schedules are subject to change.

How to Participate

To learn more please go to Inquire About Programs and Services | Anoka County, MN - Official Website (anokacountymn.gov) . Anyone is welcome to apply that is at least 18 years of age, meets eligibility criteria – including program assessments- and meets one or more of the following criteria:

  • at or below 200% of poverty,
  •  struggling with lack of stable housing, 
  • been unemployed for 26 or more weeks in the past 52 weeks,
  •  identifies as a person of color, 
  • lacks a high school diploma, 
  • has a disability and can do the work of a Human Service Assistant with or without accommodations.
  • has limited English or math proficiency, while meeting our criteria for success as noted below- approximately reading/math at a 6th grade level
Outcomes
  1. Northstar Digital Literacy Certificate
  2. Customer Service Representative Certificate
  3. 12 College Credits in Behavior Health & Human Service Assistant
  4. 6-8 Week paid Internship 
  5. Vocational Counseling support services to help you succeed in the training and extensive support to help you find a good job. 
Program Costs

No Cost to Eligible Participants who are at least 18 years of age  meet other eligibility criteria
