This class will be held at Minnesota State College Southeast Winona from January 13th thru March 13th, 2025. See schedule below for more details.
NorthStar Digital Modules/Testing/Registration (The testing is Monday and Wednesday January 13th and 15th, 2025 from 4-8PM. You must test to be able to attend the class.)
20 hours of classroom instruction in Safety, Blueprint, Reading, Precision Measuring and Gauging.
40 hours of Basic CNC setup, operation and troubleshooting. Downloading and running programs, loading tools and monitoring speed. Operating CNC machine tools for success.
These classes will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings January 22-March 24, 2025 from 4-8PM.
There will be no classes on:
Mon, Jan 13th (MLK)
Mon, Feb 17 (President's Day)
OSHA 10 for General Industry and Essential Soft Skills for Employment (16 hours + one college credit)
These classes will be held Monday-Thursday evenings March 10-13th, 2025 from 4-8 PM.
The eligibility criteria are:
Must live in the 10 Southeastern county area
Cannot be enrolled in High School
Must be 18 years of age
Individual of color/Hispanic
Individual with a criminal record
Individual without a high school diploma or equivalent
Individual with disabilities
Individual who has been unemployed for 26 weeks or more out of the past 52 weeks or
Individual at or below the 200 Percent of Federal Poverty Guidelines
The prerequisite is to complete the NorthStar Digital and CASAS testing for a basic skills level in Reading and Math.
A certificate of completion for NorthStar Digital Learning Modules.
A certificate of completion for 60 hours of Accelerated CNC training.
One college credit and a certificate of completion for OSHA 10 for General Industry and Essential Soft Skills and 1 college credit.
This program is free if you meet the eligibility requirements. Please call to see if you are eligible for grant funding that would cover the whole cost.
